New Start is a faith-based alternative to incarceration, patterned after the model of One Church, One Offender, Inc., presently in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We collaborate with churches, the courts, law enforcement, businesses, and social services agencies to address the spiritual and natural needs of criminal offenders. In doing so, we call upon the legal system to work with churches and other social services as an alternative to incarceration.

New Start works with other resources in McLean County to help make the transition back into the community productive and lasting. Through New Start, the religious community is playing an important role in the rehabilitation and success of ex-offenders. We focus on offenders, spiritual growth, social skills, and other needs to succeed in society. We encourage positive behavior and provide an environment conducive to building self-esteem, confidence, independence and hopefulness in the offender.
